1. HOMEWORK TUTORING PROGRAM

The amount of homework your child is assigned will continue to increase with every grade. DOES YOUR CHILD HAVE THE SKILLS AND HABITS NEEDED TO MANAGE DAILY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS WITH CONFIDENCE? If your answer is NO, we can help!

Because our sessions are given in small groups, every student receives individual attention and benefits from the opportunity to work independently to master material. This is the key to helping your child build confidence, stay motivated and experience success!

*OUR HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WILL PROVIDE:

• Help catching up on any missed skills • Improved organizational skills & study habits

• Extra instruction in class material • A dedicated place and time where a trained teacher can help with assignments

WHY IS HOMEWORK A STRUGGLE?
There are a number of reasons why students struggle in school. We have found that, for the most part, it is due to the inability to complete homework assignments on a regular basis. Homework should be completed in a strategic manner. Our program will teach students how to complete assignments in a timely manner.

HOW DOES HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE WORK?
Students bring in homework and we note the skill level needs. We then provide assistance with the homework, giving additional assignments for progress if necessary. We can assist in a variety of subjects from Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, French and History. At the end of the session, the teacher will check off all completed assignments and give a report to the parent to let them know if:

a. the child finished all their work
b. the child needed a lot of help with their work
c. the child behaved and/or stayed on task during the session

THE RESULTS
Homework soon becomes important and useful because it leads to an immediate positive response from parents and teachers. Students who participate in the Homework Assistance Program will show a more positive self-image and attitude toward school.

Mondays from 3pm-5:45pm, Mondays from 7pm-9pm, Wednesdays from 3pm-5:45pm, Saturdays from 8:30am-9:55am

COST
$20 non-refundable registration fee + $250 (once a week – 20 sessions - $12.50 per session for 20 sessions = $250 plus taxes) $450 (twice a week – 40 sessions - $11.25 per session = $450 plus taxes) $600 (three times a week – 60 sessions - $10 per session = $600 plus taxes)

Payment by cheque, cash or credit card must be made in two equal instalments, one prior to the start and the second midway through the program. Prices do not include taxes. Trial session: $20

2. Grades 5 & 6 Preparation for High School Entrance Exams
Level 1 and Level 2

We offer a dynamic course that will help grades five and six students
with the often challenging high school entrance exams.

LEVEL 1: PREPARATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAMS – Offered only to grade six students, this course is designed to prepare students for the upcoming high school entrance exams. Students will practice writing sample exams and will be taught strategies on how to read and understand the questions. The program includes the following topics: Math, English Language Arts (spelling, grammar, reading comprehension, essay writing), Logic and Interview Skills. Additional topics include concentration, time management, and dealing with exam stress.
Cost $125 plus taxes for 6 hours of instruction. Includes all materials.

LEVEL 2: PREPARATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAMS – A more in-depth workshop, with emphasis on Language Arts and Math concepts. This more advanced level provides more one-on-one coaching opportunities for the individual needs of the child. This course will help your child SUCCEED! Cost $125 plus taxes for 6 hours of instruction.

3. REACH – GRADE ONE TUTORING PROGRAM

*REACH* is an academic tutoring program assisting GRADE ONE children with basic Mathematics, Literacy (reading & writing) and French (oral).

The first session is a Skills Assessment session. This is an important step for identifying your child's learning style and pinpointing areas of academic struggle. Every step of the way, we'll keep your child on the path to success by carefully monitoring and tracking progress.

Because our sessions are given in small groups, every student receives individual attention and benefits from the opportunity to work independently to master material. Children with attention issues will be given strategies to stay focused. This is the key to helping your child build confidence, stay motivated and experience success!

OUR PROGRAM WILL DEVELOP THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

Literacy

Learn the sounds associated with letters, including short and long vowel sounds
Build word recognition and sight vocabulary
Continue to develop phonemic awareness
Develop basic reading fluency
Basic writing
Comprehension

Math – bilingual

Counting in English and French and basic addition and subtraction
Identify and work with different types of shapes
Count money, tell and write time to the half hour

French

Oral
Beginner spelling and reading
Comprehension

At the end of the 12 week program, the student will receive a certificate of participation plus an option to sign up for an additional 12 weeks. During this last session the teacher will meet individually with parents and give an oral assessment of their child's strengths and weaknesses.

4. ACADEMIC SUPERCAMP

A Perfect Blend of Academics, Arts and Athletics

Research proves that when students don’t keep their minds sharp over summer vacation, they take a month or more to get back into the swing of productive learning when school starts again. Children forget a staggering 70% of the material that they learned throughout the year and summer programs are an effective way to avoid this “summer learning loss”. The primary focus of enrolling your child in our ACADEMIC SUPERCAMP is to refresh students’ skills and reinforce key concepts in order to give them a head start.

About ACADEMIC SUPERCAMP

Focused on targeted skill areas like math, writing, and reading
Taught in small groups by caring certified instructors so every child receives individual attention
A fun way to enhance academic, social and organizational skills, along with motivation, behavior and attention
The camp is available for students ages 5-12
The camp has a small group format to allow time for interaction between the teacher and each student
Various multi-sensory methods are used to address the needs of diverse learning styles

Prior to the start of camp we will meet with you to discuss your child and his/her needs. This is an important step for identifying your child's learning style and pinpointing areas of academic struggle. A program will then be created that is ideally suited for him or her. Every step of the way, our qualified instructors will keep your child on the path to success by carefully monitoring and tracking progress. Our summer enrichment program will produce confident learners ready to face the classroom in the fall. Children will get better grades and blossom with individual attention. This is the key to helping your child build confidence, stay motivated and experience success.

A typical day will include approximately 4 hours of instruction and 3 hours of "play" - a perfect balance that will keep children motivated and having fun!

5. MATH CHALLENGE

Math Challenge is a 12 week tutorial program offered to secondary I to IV students. The sessions are designed to help students perform mathematical computations at school and in everyday life.

Math Challenge will help develop your son/daughter’s math skills and teach them how to approach mathematical problems by giving them the tools and methods to solve a problem. The program is taught by qualified Mathematics teachers and will follow the government’s curriculum Reform.
